L’Etape du Tour 2024

Ciaran Walsh took on the challenge of the L’Etape du Tour de France, successfully completing the demanding alpine sportive that follows one of the official stages of the Tour de France.

The Etape du Tour is one of the most well known amateur cycling events in the world, giving riders the opportunity to experience the same roads used by the professionals during the Tour de France. The 2024 edition followed the route between Nice and the Col de la Couillole, covering a distance of 138 kilometres through the French Alps with an impressive 4,600 metres of climbing along the way.

The route is renowned for its long alpine climbs, technical descents and spectacular scenery, making it a true test of endurance, pacing and preparation. Thousands of cyclists from across the world travel to take part each year, taking on the challenge of riding a full Tour de France stage under race conditions.

Completing the Etape du Tour is a major achievement for any cyclist and reflects the months of training required to prepare for such a demanding route.
