Hyrox Melbourne & Sydney
Mickey Maguire recently completed both Hyrox Melbourne and Hyrox Sydney in close succession, taking on one of the fastest growing fitness race formats in the world.
Hyrox is a global fitness competition that combines endurance running with functional workout stations. The race follows a standardised format, meaning it is the same at every event worldwide. Athletes complete eight one kilometer runs, each followed by a workout station, creating a continuous and demanding test of strength, endurance and pacing.
The workout stations include movements such as sled push and sled pull, rowing, burpee broad jumps, farmer’s carries and wall balls. The format requires athletes to manage their effort carefully, balancing speed on the runs with efficiency through each station in order to maintain a consistent performance from start to finish.
In Hyrox Sydney, Mickey delivered a strong performance, completing the event in 1 hour 32 minutes. He then followed this up by competing in Hyrox Melbourne, continuing his run and building further experience in the format.
Competing in back to back Hyrox events requires both physical and mental resilience, with the intensity of the format placing continuous demands on the body throughout the race.
